Jeremy Oakley

Professor of Statistics

Biography

I am a Professor of Statistics and Head of School in the School of Mathematics and Statistics (SoMaS) at the University of Sheffield. My research interests are in Bayesian statistics, in particular uncertainty quantification (UQ) for complex computer models, eliciting probability distributions from experts, and applications of these in Health Economics.

I teach various undergraduate and postgraduate modules on statistics, and supervise PhD students (both within SoMaS and jointly with other departments) mainly on topics in UQ and in eliciting probability distributions.
